Scotia, California

Tuesday – June 26, 2012

Today we went through the Humboldt Redwood forest and Richardson’s Grove and drove down the Avenue of the Giants. We saw beautiful giant Redwood trees. We decided to stop for the day and stay at Stanford RV Park in Scotia, California since it is a member of Passport of America which we joined before leaving on this trip. We almost didn’t enter the park because it looked rather shabby at the entrance; however, since we were already here we went ahead with our plan. Much to our surprise and delight the back of the campground where we are staying has spacious sites surrounded by beautiful Redwood trees. It is absolutely stunning. We are parked amongst these giant Redwoods. There is a huge grassy area for Daisy which is soft on her paws. She’s been out for a walk twice since getting here. This is a must stop for any future visits in this area.
